Shane,
We just installed a 13 mile (about 21 km) link with one of your reflectors, with your new claw mount. So far it's working just a bit better than an older Motorola dish. The guys seem to be pretty happy with the KP units.
Once we burn through our current stock of the Moto reflectors, we'll be placing an order.

Ken,
Your newest rev of the now infamous black yagi is most definitely an improvement. On Wednesday we did a test from an existing customers location. They were averaging a signal of around -.80 with a $120 U.S cushcraft 13db yagi. For a test they switched it out for one of the new 14db KP yagis without touching anything else and the signal strength dropped to -72. Very impressive! Thought I should share that with you.
Thanks,Jim
Hi Ken,
I would just like to say that I have first hand knowledge on how these dishes work. I've been a WISP for 5 years and I used to use Motorola and they were not really an option because they were too expensive. Over the past years I found a couple of alternatives that were hacked versions that never really worked quite as well as the Motorola Reflectors. With these dishes they are definitely as good if not a couple of dBm better in a couple of cases. Thanks for letting us test your new design they work great!

Hey Ken
I just wanted to drop you a note to let you know we have tested your reflector and a variety of others and we have come to the conclusion that yours is out performing the rest. I really like the design, it's very sturdy and my installers have all given it the thumbs up! It's really great when a company actually comes out with something that works like they said it would. Let me know when you are done testing the 900 yagi’s.
Thanks

Ken,
We received your reflector and have tested it against wireless beehive, motorola, and a couple others and the results are interesting. We tested your reflector and found that your antenna tested much better than the wireless beehive, and others we tested. When testing it directly against motorola it tested as good or better depending on conditions, it seems like the jitter is better on your dish than the motorola under abnormal conditions, ie snow and ice. We are very happy with the overal testing and will be getting back in touch.
Thanks for the great product!

Hi Ken
The M2 Antenna systems 17db yagi has been traditionally the best performing yagi on the market today. KP Performance 17db yagi easily matches that at a lower price point and with some added advantages. While color of the antenna is, in my opinion superficial, some clients do prefer the black antenna over the shiny silver one. The bracket engineered by KP Performance also performedmuch better in our field tests. We tend to deploy the yagis with either a J-bracket mount or a vertical steel pipe. In either case, the KP Performance bracket provides a better grip and less movement in the vertical and horizontal planes. M2 Antenna brackets need to be torqued a lot and as a result the stripping of the clamp threads occurs frequently. That has not been the case with the KP Performance bracket. The bracket can also be flipped over allowing for customization specific to the mount (over or under). Also KP’s having the antenna pre-assembled with the driven element saves a few minutes on location as well. Less fighting with little, tiny bolts and nuts during the midst of Alberta winter is a treasured bonus.
KP Performance reflector allows an infinite degree of freedom during the installation time, normally not seen while deploying the traditional Motorola reflector. In the ideal world - we would always have a plumb pipe available... However, how many times do we find ourselves with a wall mount option that does not allow for a proper line of sight to the tower ? Unless, of course, the dish is drastically tilted, affecting the alignment and a signal strength. With KP Performance reflector - that is no longer a concern. The J-bracket pipe can face practically at any angle and a perfect horizontal orientation of the dish is still achievable. We have also seen the Motorola reflectors damaged easily as a result of a fall or even a bump. The steel KP Performance dishes just keep on going. The plastic SM mount allows for easy removal and insertion without unplugging of the subscriber module. They are rigid, yet flexible enough not to break in sub-zero temperatures. We felt confident to deploy them as backhaul reflectors on some of our towers. The cost is significantly better than the Motorola reflector.
I would like to say thank you very much for making such a great product.

Hi Ken,
I just wanted to write you a quick note to let you know how I am doing with the 17 Dbi Yagi antennas, I picked up last month from KP. So far, the performance is easily par with the M2 antenna I have used in the past, I am able to reach far more people now than I could before with just the Motorola 900 MHz panel SM. What I wanted to let you know about though, is the bracket. Your design is much better than the others I have used, with a larger boss to clamp to and two U-bolts instead of one. I use these for their higher gain, so I am stuck with the longer antennas. Now, in spite of the length, the antenna does not sag a bit from under its own weight. I have had trouble in the past with others – with even a little snowfall the yagi ends up sagging downward. These new ones are much sturdier.
Thanks again for another great product.

Hello Ken,
Finally someone has managed to combine performance AND value. We have been using the M2 antenna ever since we moved into the 900 MHz broadcast range. They have performed well, significantly better than the Motorola panel antennae, but the cost has been an issue. Your new antennae perform as good or better than the M2 in side-by-side testing completed in our most challenging zones. The majority of our broadcast region is the foothills of the Rockies with lots of foliage and topographical challenges throughout. The mount is also a much more solid connection which should reduce the number of call backs for re-pointing of client antennae after our Chinook windstorms.
Our policy has been to not raise our prices from our original published numbers for the dishes associated with other frequencies so we have been losing significant money on each and every install. We are now in a position to actual lower our prices to clients, thereby boosting our sales potential and nothing in this business is more important than that. All I can say is “thank-you, thank-you” for addressing something for our whole industry. Best of luck and keep us posted with any of your future developments.
Thanks,
Doug
We purchased several 17 and 14db Yagi's to compare with the M2's that we already have and we like the KPPerformance Yagi way better than the M2.
The YA17KPPD is superior to the M2 because it not only looks more professional, but the mount for it is superb for keeping the Yagi in line and straight, unlike the M2 which droops down from the inferior mounting bracket. The price difference is also a bonus. Thanks for everything.
Thanks,
Ryan
